Physician Assistant / APRN

Apollo Pain Management, a well-respected and established interventional pain practice in the exciting Tampa Bay area, is seeking a Part-Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (with potential to ramp up to Full-Time) to help grow our brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Bradenton, FL. Candidate must have excellent bedside manner, time management skills, and work well independently and as a team. This position is to start as a Part-Time position for 3 days per week, with potential to ramp up to Full-Time. The ideal candidate will manage all clinical activities of patient care including seeing follow up patients, prescribe controlled and non-controlled pain medications, and perform basic injections.

Work Location:  Offices in Sun City Center, FL and Bradenton, FL

Job Type: Part-Time (potential to Full-Time)

Pay range:  starting at $60/hour and based on experience

Expected hours: 2-3 days/week, 8am-5pm, No nights, No weekends

Qualifications

  • Graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant or APRN program
  • Proof of professional certification
  • Currently licensed by the State of Florida
  • BLS/ACLS Certified
  • Clinical experience in interventional pain management preferred, but not required. Will train. 

Responsibilities

  • Work under the direct supervision of a physician
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including detailed medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging modalities like XR, CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound.
  • Evaluate imaging studies, EKG, and labs
  • Diagnose pain conditions and recommend appropriate interventional pain therapies
  • Practice sound safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods. Notify supervising physician regarding any unusual or unexpected events or problems
  • Prescribe pain management medications, both controlled and non-controlled within scope of practice
  • Proficient in use of Electronic Medical Record (EMR), eClinicalWorks preferred
  • Provide health education to patients and families
  • Understanding of HIPAA rules and regulations, and assure compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Assist in OR procedures
